JUMP JUMP DANCE DANCE RELEASES “SHOW ME THE NIGHT” (UNIVERSAL MUSIC AUSTRALIA/MINISTRY OF SOUND AUSTRALIA), SECOND SINGLE OFF FORTHCOMING SELF-TITLED ALBUM DECEMBER 19, 2011 (NORTH AMERICA)
NEW YORK, NY (December 19th, 2011) – JUMP JUMP DANCE DANCE is a Los Angeles-based electro-pop band that’s fearless in shattering the preconceived notions of musical boundaries. Favored by stylish scenesters, the clubbing masses and festival-goers alike, JUMP JUMP DANCE DANCE is more than just a hipster’s band. With an irresistible mixture of EDM-infused pop, JUMP JUMP DANCE DANCE has carved a definitive path with music-lovers across Australia, and the band continues making waves in the U.S. Leading up to the impending release of their self-titled studio album, JUMP JUMP DANCE DANCE releases their second single, “SHOW ME THE NIGHT,” on December 19th, 2011 in North America. The full-length Jump Jump Dance Dance (Universal Music Australia / Ministry Of Sound Australia) album will be released on January 30th, 2012 in North America.
“SHOW ME THE NIGHT” is a hook-y, catchy song that pays homage to THE CLASH’s “This Is Radio Clash” with guitar riffs evocative of FRANZ FERDINAND. Said CHRIS CARTER, vocalist and guitarist for JUMP JUMP DANCE DANCE, “The Clash were one of the greatest punk rock bands of all time and they were surely an influence on me artistically. So to be compared with The Clash is super-awesome and a huge compliment!” Adds JUMP JUMP DANCE DANCE’s SIMON LEWICKI, “We actually toured with FRANZ [FERDINAND]…they’re fantastic guys and we had loads of fun! It’s cool to be able to spend time together on-the-road performing, especially when it means traveling with your mates who have similar tastes in music.”
The Radio Edit of “SHOW ME THE NIGHT” is a booty-shakin’ paean to a carefree nightlife filled with mystery and possibility. LEWICKI is masterful at self-control, giving just enough breathing room for CARTER’s flirty, come-hither vocals to dominate. The GRUM Remix is a psychedelic, fantastical interpretation of the original, replete with swirly synths and a toe-tapping beat. HUMAN LIFE’S WEST COAST GIRLS Remix is a throwback version that nods affectionately towards the disco era with CARTER’s vocal practically rhythmic in its own staccato fashion. The NICK GALEA Remix is an absolutely filthy, tribal climax of a song that makes the listener surrender completely to house music urges.
Like their previous single, “2.0” (in particular the LAIDBACK LUKE remix), which leaned heavily on synth-pop and a pounding bottom end, “SHOW ME THE NIGHT” lends itself brilliantly to progressive-house friendly dancefloors. With its spacious architecture, “SHOW ME THE NIGHT” is a mischievous ode to a long night out where anything is possible. It’s a song as well suited for a darkened dancefloor as it is for an outdoor festival, wherever there are strobelights and lasers piercing the fog.
CARTER and LEWICKI have a DJ’s sensibility for rocking a party, and they perform as DJs when not touring as a band. With skills gleaned from years of DJing alongside the likes of DAVID GUETTA, FRANZ FERDINAND, TOMMIE SUNSHINE and the late DJ AM, JUMP JUMP DANCE DANCE (the band) has CARTER on guitar and vocals, with LEWICKI injecting a heavy dose of synthesizers and programming. A live drummer is also added to the band setup. The result is a high-energy, electro-pop show with a decidedly partylike atmosphere. “SHOW ME THE NIGHT” is available on Beatport, iTunes, Amazon and all major retailers. JUMP JUMP DANCE DANCE RELEASES “2.0” (UNIVERSAL MUSIC AUSTRALIA/MINISTRY OF SOUND AUSTRALIA), FIRST SINGLE OFF FORTHCOMING SELF-TITLED ALBUM AUGUST 2011 (NORTH AMERICA)
NEW YORK, NY (August 29th, 2011) – Having conquered Australia, the electro-rock band comprising L.A.-based DJ/production duo CHRIS CARTER and SIMON LEWICKI is ready to assail North America as the band JUMP JUMP DANCE DANCE. Roundly lauded by the Australian and UK music press for their self-titled studio album, JUMP JUMP DANCE DANCE (Ministry Of Sound Australia/Universal Music Australia), the band is already setting off sirens as they erupt Stateside with “2.0,” the first single from the album with radio edit mixed by JACK JOSEPH PUIG, GRAMMY®-winning producer for LADY GAGA, PANIC! AT THE DISCO, U2 and THE BLACK EYED PEAS.
Entirely self-produced, the album JUMP JUMP DANCE DANCE was mixed by industry heavyweights including DAVE SARDY (OASIS, SOULWAX); MARK NEEDHAM (THE KILLERS, BLOC PARTY, 3OH!3); and Australian pop veteran, SAMEER SENGUPTA (aka POXY MUSIC).
The “2.0” E.P. contains remixes by top dance and electronic producers. The Original Mix is a perfectly packaged electro-pop song with LEWICKI’s upbeat synths showcasing CARTER’s sinuous vocals, all set against a tightly wound and infectious beat. The LAIDBACK LUKE Remix is a blistering sonic assault characterized by a thudding bassline, cinematic guitars and an animalistic beat that propel CARTER’s vocals to the front of any dancefloor. The REDIAL Remix is a tweaky electro delight that takes the essential elements of the original and fires them up with wobbly effects and heavy processing for maximum drama. The JONO FERNANDEZ Remix is a muscular, prog-house gem full of lusty suspense. The FARE SOLDI Remix is a quirky, funk-driven number as invigorating as it is bouncy. The CHRISTIAN LUKE Remix is a delicate, patiently melodic take on the original with dreamy loops that explode into filthy production at the chorus. The ROB PIX Remix absolutely thrills with a staccato, rhythmic syncopation that turns CARTER’s vocals positively glam.
As successful musicians and DJs/producers currently living in Los Angeles, CARTER and LEWICKI have a DJ’s sensibility for rocking a party.
American audiences may already be familiar with the music of JUMP JUMP DANCE DANCE via the band’s numerous licensing deals including an online campaign for Victoria’s Secret’s “Stringkini” swimwear line; music for Electronic Arts’ FIFA 2011 games; music in FOX-TV Australia’s fall season trailers for the hit TV shows, “Glee” and “America’s Next Top Model”; and music in the Columbia Pictures film, “The Roommate,” starring LEIGHTON MEISTER. The “2.0” single will also appear in the soon-to-be-released Ambush Entertainment film, “Answers To Nothing,” starring DANE COOK and JULIE BENZ.
What the international media have been saying about “2.0” by JUMP JUMP DANCE DANCE:
“An irresistible slice of punk rock electro from the L.A. newcomers. A promising and intriguing debut that hints at a dynamic album.” – Music Week (UK)
“Witness the birth of another hit.” – Music Network (Australia)
“More than enough indie swagger to excite.” – Record Of The Day (UK)
“Top 10 Most Blogged Artist.” – The Hype Machine
“F&*%ING BRILLIANT! One of my favourite songs…” – Sat Bisla (A&R Worldwide)
“2.0” is available on Beatport, iTunes, Amazon and all digital retailers. JUMP JUMP DANCE DANCE is reaching for the pinnacle with “2.0” and one thing’s for sure: this band is ready to fly.
